Gibraltar Hotels: The Best and The Worst

A sprawling paradise dotted with warm and inviting hospitality hubs, Gibraltar has a heavy presence of highly rated hotels. From rustic and classically themed retreats to modern spaces oozing sophistication, you’ll find a Gibraltar hotel that will fit your tastes to the letter.

For the best experience we’ve listed four star and three star hotels on the Rock. Use this printable guide for a quick Gibraltar hotel summary.

Caleta Hotel (4 Stars) *

Hotel Caleta Gibraltar

Suited for families, couples, solos and business, the Caleta comes highly recommended as a stunning jewel in this Mediterranean vacation hotspot. If you’re planning on a short stay, the Caleta Hotel would be a perfect place for you to stay while waiting for a connecting flight or just lounge for a couple of days as you sample what Gibraltar has to offer.

If planning on staying on for a while longer say at least a couple of weeks, the Caleta Hotel offers self-catering apartments while still benefiting from the convenience and services of a four star holiday.

O’Callaghan Elliott Hotel (4 Stars) *

Elliot O Callaghan Hotel Gibraltar
Conveniently located 10 minutes away from Gibraltar International Airport by taxi, the O’Callaghan Elliot Hotel is at the center of Gibraltar’s shopping scene; little wine bars, pocket friendly shops not to mention it’s a 2 minute walk to Main Street.

Enjoy an evening swim on the rooftop swimming pool; perfect for watching the Mediterranean sunset or share pics online via the free Wi-Fi. There’s so much to do, you’ll never want to leave.

Rock Hotel Gibraltar (4 Stars) *

The Rock Hotel - Gibraltar

Built in 1932, the Rock Hotel Gibraltar is an institution within Gibraltar’s hospitality industry. Savor the ever changing sea view from the balcony or wistfully sip a cocktail on the Marrakech themed garden as you work on your tan.

If wildlife’s your thing, the Rock Hotel is known to be a favorite of the local monkey population. You may even have them keep you company right before sundown if you’re lucky (just remember to keep your windows closed after all a cheeky monkey even from Gibraltar is still a cheeky monkey).

Bristol Hotel (3 Stars) *

Bristol Hotel: Gibraltar

A 5-minute walk from the main square, the Bristol Hotel is at an ideal location. Boasting 60 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, the Bristol Hotel enhances your Gibraltar vacation with all necessary amenities plus extras.

Though relatively dated, the Bristol is acclaimed for its amiable and helpful staff. The continental breakfast; yoghurts, toast, jams, ham and cheese, is sufficient to kick start your day and besides there are many other restaurants within walking distance to satisfy any ravenous appetite.
