Visitors Airport Guide: Best access to and from Gibraltar Airport

Guide For Passengers *

infoover half a century the Gibraltar International Airport has been serving this British Overseas Territory; first as a naval airbase and later becoming a commercial airport. A gradual surge of passenger traffic over the years has seen the Gibraltar International Airport expand its terminal to accommodate the fresh influx.

The new terminal, first opened in 2011, has a passenger capacity of 1.5 million yearly with three departure gates and two baggage carousels. Additionally, a general aviation area has been set aside for use by private planes.

Since the promulgation of the Cordoba agreement; a trade accord between Spain, the United Kingdom and Gibraltar, the airport has seen an increase in flight operations (upto 7 flights arrive and depart daily).

Car Hire *

carGibraltar is an exotic paradise worth exploring for yourself. From the alluring touring sites to the relatively cheap shopping sprees you could indulge in, Gib offers it all. Car hire is a choice anyone would be quick to settle on given the freedom and flexibility it offers. Thankfully there are numerous car hire companies to choose from.

There are two car hire companies at the airport; AVIS and Autos Aguirre while the rest are located offsite.

We provide information on car rental companies both within the airport and offsite as well.

Private Transfers *

taxisNot everyone appreciates the hassle of renting a car and driving it around on foreign roads. Gibraltar Airport private transfers will drive you through the steadily changing metropolis to your hotel of choice. This is especially helpful since its hard enough getting a taxi during the peak seasons (summer months) not to mention you’ll avoid haggling taxi fees.

Blands Travel and Parody Tur are the two transport companies located on the airport premises.
